ACT has conducted numerous validity studies that have found that ACT scores evaluated in conjunction with high school GPA accurately predict college performance. The ACT focuses on evaluating academic achievement rather than aptitude. The ACT is designed to evaluate college readiness by testing students’ knowledge in four key subject areas: English, reading, science, and math.
